Welcome to my GAJA ART GALLERY!
My semi abstract palette knife paintings are fusion between figurative and abstract art. I see the world through lights and colors. Where there is light there is color, simply an impression of what surrounds us. I am fascinated by visual and sensory perception. My goal is to capture a fleeting moment, but also to express the feelings associated with this particular instant. Nature inspires me. I have always been fascinated by landscape painting. I am fortunate to live in a charming Dutch village with a beautiful marina. The reflection of light on water is one of my favorite subjects so far. I like challenges in painting. I paint with my heart and soul the Dutch polders with endless horizons and the boundless expanse of the Dutch sky. Above all, there are also such incredibly inspiring flower fields. Nothing is more perfect in the earth than a flower. My latest collection of paintings consists of semi-abstract flower paintings. The technique alla prima which I use is direct and pure. By choosing the right color and tone I capture the impression of flowers. I paint in expressive yet conscious movements with a painting knife that has to be done right the first time. With the floral paintings, which contain the most intimate character of all my works, I make my statement and say something that I cannot say in any other way.

Justyna Gaja paints with painting knives in alla prima en impasto technique on a colored background. The interaction with the substrate provides a multitude of tone effects so that applied colors interact. She uses bold paint in a wide range of color palettes confidently and expressively to create her vibrant florals and landscape paintings.

Her paintings can be found in galleries and in private collections in The Netherlands but also in other European countries, USA, South America and Asia.
